Divisional Events
The St. Hubert School Divisional Events page has been developed to provide parents with a guideline of classroom activities.
Students are provided with programs that will capture their interest and prepare them for a lifetime of learning required to meet these goals. The Ontario Curriculum, Grades 1-8 outlines the knowledge, skills, and high standards of learning.
Primary Division (Jk, Sk, Grades 1-3)
Reading readiness, early intervention, speech and language screening, parent information/education, determining learning styles, developmental reading assessments (SK - grade 3), CAT results, EQAO results, shared and guided reading and balanced literacy programs (grades 1-3) .
Junior Division (Grade 4-6)
On-going assessment (developmental reading assessment), CAT results, EQAO results, developing the writing-reading connection, appropriate levelled texts, focused instruction, identifying the at-risk reader, use of learning styles surveys to support differentiated instruction, Numeracy assessments as outlined in our Board delivery plan.
Intermediate Division (Grade 7, 8)
Levelled texts appropriate to literature studies, literature circles, reading in the content areas, strategy based teaching for at risk students, developmental reading assessment, CAT results, reading intervention programs, Numeracy assessments as outlined in our Board delivery plan.
This information is communicated to parents regularly through student agendas, phone calls, report cards, student work samples as well as formal and informal evaluations.
